About Whāriki
The aim of Whāriki is to share knowledge about mental health and addiction – about what works well, for whom and where – to accelerate learning across the country. The primary goal is learning and innovation about ways to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders.
We may suspend, terminate or restrict your access if you breach any of these terms. We may modify, change or update any part of the website at any time, with or without notice.
Before using Whāriki
You’ll need an active internet connection.
Privacy Policy
Privacy is very important to those who use the Website. We understand, so here’s our privacy policy. We’ve kept it separate from these T&Cs so that it is quick to find when you’re on our website.
Disclaimer
You agree that your use of the Website is at your sole risk. The Website is not a substitute for COVID-19 health, emergency, crisis or long-term support. You should seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional if you have any questions regarding your health or your symptoms at any time.
The partners and funders who developed this Website do not guarantee the timeliness, completeness or performance of the Website or any of its content.
Requests for help, emailed to info@whariki-ao.nz, are sent to a secure email address. These are not monitored 24/7. We’ll do everything we can to respond to requests by the following business day.
(Now for the really legal stuff … we have to cover this): To the extent permitted by law, the partners and funders of this website excludes all representations and warranties (whether express or implied by law), including the implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, security and accuracy.

The Website and brand are the property of the Ministry of Health. The Website itself and all the trademarks, copyright, database rights and other intellectual property rights related to it, belong to the Ministry of Health.

- commercialise any content or services offered in the website
- try to translate the website into other languages, or make derivative versions.
Any unauthorised use of any trademarks, or any other intellectual property belonging to the Ministry of Health is strictly prohibited.

“User Content” as referred to herein means all forms of communication, messages, information, data, text, software, graphic files, or other materials, whether in written, verbal, electronic, digital, machine-readable or any other form, whether now known or hereafter to become known, which is contributed to the Website.

- Impersonate another person, or attempt to mislead users by indicating that you represent any organisation or any of the Ministry of Health’s partners or affiliates.
- Attempt to get a password, account information, or other private information from another users.
- Upload User Content that you do not own or have permission to freely distribute.
- Promote or encourage any illegal activity including hacking, cracking or distribution of counterfeit software.
- Upload files that contain a virus or corrupted data.
- Post messages for any purpose other than personal communication, including advertising or promotional messaging, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or other commercial activities.
- Improperly use our support team or make false reports to our staff.
- Use or distribute “auto” software programs, “macro” software programs or other “cheat utility” software program or applications.
- Modify any part of the Website that the Ministry of Health does not specifically authorise you to modify.
- Attempt to interfere with, hack into or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers.
- Exploit errors in design, features which are not documented, and/or bugs to gain access that would otherwise not be available or to obtain any competitive advantage.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble all or any portion of the Website.

This website is governed by New Zealand law, and the courts of New Zealand have exclusive jurisdiction.

It is unlawful to intentionally cause damage to this website. You accept that you need to ensure that the desktop or mobile device you use to access Whāriki is secure, and free from all forms of corruption, including viruses.

We reserve the right to make changes to Whāriki at any time and for any reason. All changes will be effective immediately upon their posting to the website. Material changes will be posted conspicuously on the website. By accessing the website and following posting of changes to the Terms of Use, you agree to all such changes.
If Whāriki is discontinued we reserve the right to disconnect the website at any time without giving notice of termination.
